A Guide To Your Baby’s First Twelve Months

Parenthood - The Dream Becomes a Reality:
Parenthood, you have dreamed about it forever and it now has become a reality. The months you have spent in preparation show your readiness to become a parent. You may have been waiting for years with your nursery complete with all the trimmings in anticipation of your new arrival or the events leading to this day may have taken place so quickly that you are now scrambling to assemble the items you need. In any case, your dream has come true and with excitement and anticipation to move forward to the day when you become family.

This guide is intended to provide a basic idea of what you can expect. It is not intended to diagnose or judge your child’s abilities. Your baby’s health care provider will assess his growth and development during routine visits, and provide guidelines for concern if necessary. If measuring your child’s development produces more anxiety than relief, you may choose to lighten up for a bit, trust your instincts, and remember that your child will progress in his own way regardless of your research.
